FISHING:
Potato Lake, the area's largest at 2,054 acres, offers northern pike, walleye,
largemouth bass and crappie fishing. Due to its varying depths, Potato
Lake is a challenging fishing lake. Prime time is both early and late summer.
CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES: Northern Pine Lodge is a family resort with activities for all. From arts and crafts to sand castle contests and nature hikes, both parents and children alike enjoy the supervised children's activities. The children meet at The Lodge from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (ages 4 to 11), Sunday through Thursday for scheduled, supervised fun.
WATER
ACTIVITIES: Our clean, sandy beach slopes gently to a safe
diving depth at our swimming raft. Other water activities available include
water skiing, canoeing, sailing, paddleboats, kayaks and a water slide.
Relax at the end of the day in our log sauna.
TENNIS:
Our clay court provides a superb surface for the most demanding player.
OTHER IDEAS:
- HIKING: We have several groomed trails through beautiful woods. You may want to bring a basket for those wild blueberries and raspberries.
- WILDLIFE WATCHING: Out marshland ponds are excellent viewing spots for ducks, geese, loons, grouse, pilated woodpeckers and many other bird species plus deer and other wildlife.
- JOGGING: Our 1 3/4-mile private road is ideal for jogging.
- BIKING: The forty-mile bike trail from Park Rapids to Walker is just 10 minutes away.
- GOLFING: Three different courses are each just a few minutes away including an 18-hole championship course.
- ITASCA STATE PARK: Visit the Headwaters of the Mississippi. Itasca State Park is just 15 minutes from our Lodge. A fun place for biking, hiking and fishing.
